(End of) A Tale of 2 Dogs

Way back in 2023, I took a picture of my dog, Lucy, and thought, hm… I should draw Sirkorgo sitting on Lucy… What you see on the left is that! I titled it “A Tale of 2 Dogs”. At this time, my dog was around 11 or 12, a bit on the older side, but she was still going strong! In February 2026, Lucy’s about 15. She recently became really weak, being unable to walk or stand, and stopped eating for the most part, and unfortunately, she passes away on February 4th.

Honestly, her passing was bittersweet. She lived a full life, and passed peacefully. I still miss her…

Now it’s September 18th, 2026 (the date as of writing this), the original A Tale of 2 Dogs’ image shows up in one of my memory collections in Immich. It was really heartwarming to see old Lucy again, but it inspired me to make an image similar to what I originally made in 2023.
The image on the right is Sirkorgo, standing beside Lucy’s resting place, in my backyard. Putting these images side by side really make me reflect on how far I’ve come. Everything. Losses, wins, skills… it’s all so bittersweet, you know? Even if Lucy isn’t around anymore, she lives on through Sirkorgo, who was partially inspired by my dog, and my family’s memory of her.
